PUBLIC ACCESS
Fulfils all regulatory requirements for public sites and is the only stair tower to comply with the Building Code of Australia. Even without harnesses this stair can be built without the risk of falling more than 2 metres. Constructed using standard Layher Allround components (standards, ledgers, diagonals and decks) with a few additional components (stairway stringers, deck locking clamps and handrails). Normal handrails or childproof handrails can be used. Stringers designed for steps 150cm in height. Stair width can be varied by using different width decks for treads (1.09m, 1.57m, 2.07m). 10, 12 or 16 standard stairway towers can be con-structed, depending on require-ments. Permissible load 16 stan-dard 7.5 kN/m² with a stair width of up to 2.07m.

Australian Scaffold uses Layher stairway towers that are constructed using standard Layher Allround components (standards, ledgers, diagonals and decks) with only three additional components (stairway stringers, deck locking clamps and handrails). Normal handrails or childproof handrails can be used. Stair towers can be 10, 12 or 16 standard, depending on requirements. All Layher stairs meet Australian safety regulations.

CONSTRUCTION ACCESS

General construction best practice and increasing regulations, support the move away from ladders as the means of temporary access between levels on construction sites. The Site Stairway offers a simple, safe and practical solution. The Stairways are quickly and easily installed on site, straight off the back
of the transport, and are ready for use in minutes. Set up at between 25° and 50° they are used facing forward, and users can carry small tools, equipment, and materials in safety and comfort. They can be set up on table forms, in service ducts, around the perimeter, or elsewhere, frequently protecting the buildings stairs from the wear and tear of the construction process.

  • Available in six lengths.
  • Can be joined and supported to offer a single run climb height of 4m.
  • There is a double handrail on both sides, which automatically adjusts to the correct height.
  • Automatic locking mechanism is engaged when the stairway is at the correct angle.

  • 0 - 2 weeks hire @ 0% discount    - minimum 2 week hire.

Inclination Diagram
The inclination diagram shall be used for selecting the stairway length.
Recommended inclination range is 25-50º
The example in the diagram is shown with dotted lines and shall be interpreted as
follows (example within brackets):
1. Start with the total rise height required (4.2 m).
2. Follow the rise height across into the fan of recommended inclination (38º).
3. Choose the number of steps based upon the inclination required (24 steps at 38º)
4. Follow downwards from the intersection - and read off how far out the base of the stairway will be (5.3m).

INTERNAL ACCESS TOWER

Australian Scaffold can provide working decks, bracing elements and access all in one. Access decks are available in steel or aluminium or as aluminium/plywood combination. Ladders can be integrated (aluminium) or hook-in (steel).

PLATFORM STAIRS

Australian scaffold can provide aluminium platform stairs to be used to construct a landing type stair tower adjoining an Allround scaffold, using standard Layher components. Height up to 40 m depending on structural analysis. Permissible load 2.5 kN/m².

PLATFORM STAIR TOWER

Australian scaffold can provide Layher aluminium platform stairs to be used to construct a landing type stair tower adjoining an Allround or SpeedyScaf scaffold, using standard Layher components. Height up to 40 m depending on structural analysis. Permissible load 2.5 kN/m². (Photo on left).

 

COMPACT STAIR TOWER

Suitable for compact spaces such as stairwells during construction. Constructed using standard Layher Allround components (standards, ledgers and decks) with a few additional components (stairway stringers, deck locking clamps and handrails). Height up to 10 m. Permissible load 2.0 kN/m².(Photo on right).

MODULAR STAIRS

Australian Scaffold can provide modular stairs of any dimension and can be constructed using the required number of single stair components. Permissible load 3.0 kN/m². Weight of each stair module is less than 11kg.

ALLROUND STAIR TOWER 200

Layher's 200 stairway tower is our most popular stretcher access stair. Constructed using standard Layher Allround components (standards, ledgers, diagonals and decks) with a few additional components (stairway stringers, deck locking clamps). 10, 12 or 16 standard stairway towers can be constructed, depending on requirements. Permissible load 12 standard stair tower 2.0 kN/m² with a stair flight of 1.09m.

ALLROUND STAIRWAY TOWER 500

Suitable for stair access in public areas and as escape stair towers. Constructed using standard Layher Allround components (standards, ledgers, diagonals and decks) with a few additional components (stairway stringers, deck locking clamps and handrails). Normal handrails or childproof handrails can be used. Height is adjustable and stair width can be varied by using different width decks for treads (1.09m, 1.57m, 2.07m). 10, 12 or 16 standard stairway towers can be constructed, depending on requirements. Permissible load 16 standard 5.0 kN/m² with a stair width of up to 2.07m.
